"You have one-too-many posters of Michael Phelps in Speedos". HYSTERICAL breakup letter which shows good reasons for dumping this lousy boyfriend

This is an hysterical breakup letter written by a frustrated girlfriend to her loser boyfriend (she gives many reasons illustrating).   All of reasons she lists are wicked funny, but I think my favorites are the Michael Phelps and One Direction bullet points.  How about you?  Which ones do you think are funniest?

The author of this missive is really very smart and clearly deserves better than this lout??  I read this on Daily Mail. See the link below the photo.

The text reads:

WHY I'M DUMPING YOU

  • You think 'Predator 2' was better than the original.
  • It's not Cousint, it's cousin.
  • You referred to your Cockatoo as your baby.
  • The air brushed clothing
  • You eat your cereal with water instead of milk.  So Gross
  • You can name all of the dudes in 1Direction.
  • You have one-too-many posters of Michael Phelps in a speedo.
  • You used air quotes when you talked about the moon landing.
  • "Snow Dogs" is your favorite movie.
  • You insist on calling the President Barrack HUSSAIN Obama.
  • Must you tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON about that time that you were visited by aliens?!
  • You kiss your entire family on the mouth.
  • Your Taz tattoo.
  • Vegans do not eat bacon, dumbass.
  • You wore sweatpants to my grandma's wedding -- and NO it doesn't matter that they were black.
  • Your aol email address.
  • Two words:  Leather Pants.
  • Your favorite actor is Kirk Cameron.
  • You've used the phrase "Jay Leno said the funniest thing..."
  • You told me "put on something sexy, we're going to Red Lobster."

Have a Nice Life!

For this man (and others) you must GO SEE Star Trek

I saw the latest of the Star Trek movie series today, Star Trek: Into Darkness.

OMG, wow, fab, etc.   I truly appreciated Chris Pine's beauty in this film more than previous ones.  All of the actors (Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, etc) are really in fine form and the film has a great script.  Even the Star Trek original series icon, the original "Spock" Leonard Nimoy, makes an impressive, albeit short, appearance.

We saw the 3D version of tho movie.

I am not usually predisposed to these kind of films.   What I mean is that I am not interested in testosterone movies are only about killing destruction, violence, etc, that are geared for  Neanderthal, straight men or their pre- or pubescent counterparts.

As kid, I grew up watching Star Trek (and then the Star Wars films since).  Star Trek always had a before-its-time "hormonal" balance in its characters (although its humor and its scripts reflected the mores of the times). Men could show tenderness.

The plot/script of this movie is great.   The film's ensemble all deliver excellent performances.   Most of them with an homage/slight hint to the their character's personality on the original television series, where applicable.

Chris Pine is as gorgeous in every frame as an actor can be, as was Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook.

You should not miss this.  It was one of the few, and best, testosterone films that I've enjoyed in decades.

MELODY DAY--short film using Tet Four Remix of the song by Caribou: Who is Tet Four and what's a remix?

Well that title oughta catch your attention. Actually, I have to admit that I'm kind of old. A sign of my antiquity is that I sort of knew but couldn't have explained what a "remix" is. This song caught my attention when it was played on KCRW (another obsession for another blog post...but this is the most important radio institution in the universe) a few months ago. When I went later to the playlist and saw that it was the Tet Four Remix, I really was kind of clueless. I just knew that I loved the beautiful song that I heard. Turns out there is a wonderful sweet short film that goes with Tet Four's remix. Doesn't that cute bloke seem awfully sad? Watch:

After doing a little surf/sleuthing I stumbled upon the original song as released by the band Caribou. There is a world of difference no doubt. While I liked the song, I LOVED the Tet Four remix which in my opinion transcended a very special and inspired song from just an interesting one. So, our lesson for the day was: what is a remix and wow sometimes remixes can be better than the original. I'm sure all the youngsters must know this.

Here's the original if you want to compare. I think you'll agree that whoever that Tet Four dude is, his version was inspired.

That concludes today's lesson for us old folks and hopefully we turned some young folks on to a great remix. At least, we all know what remix means now!

I love elephants (of the non-political variety, that is)

It's hot in the desert now. I loved this photo from TIME's website. The photo caption said: "Firefighter Eforrest Allmond hoses down an Asian Elephant from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus before opening night in Philadelphia"

Interesting name for the cute firefighter too: Eforrest Allmond.

We got back from beautiful Seattle yesterday ;{ .....really loved the fantastic weather and hated to leave.
